How Can I Use This?

The norm-referenced scores provided in the Development Summary report may help be useful in those instances in which decisions must be made based on where a child stands in a norm group. For example, knowing the position of the child in relation to the norm group may be helpful in arriving at a decision to refer the child for diagnostic testing. In some cases, norm-referenced scores may be used to assist in planning learning opportunities.  The report can help administrators identify class and center variability in children’s performance in a particular area of development, as well as identifying which centers/classrooms are doing well, and which ones might need additional help.
