A Galileo Online individualization plan allows you to document how your activities and lesson plans are addressing the needs of individual children. Teachers find this especially beneficial for those children whom they are required by law to provide accommodations and modifications. Because each teacher, center, and agency individualizes lesson plans in a variety of ways, the Individualization tool in Galileo Online has been developed to be extremely flexible.
A teacher can create an individualized plan using either method:
1. Individualization by Developmental Area - Teachers who utilize this individualization plan method select a developmental area domain and the child(ren). Galileo Online provides a suggested list of activities with the goals the children are ready to learn or activities that are based on the goals that are shared between the selected children.
2. Individualization by Capability - Teachers who utilize this individualization plan method select the developmental area domain, capabilities, and the child(ren). For each capability selected, Galileo Online provides a suggested list of activities.
When you individualize a plan you will go through the following process:
1. Name your Individualization Plan. Teachers often name their individuation plans to correspond with the lesson plan they have created for that week.
2. Select the developmental level and capability(ies) for your plan. For each plan created, you will select the development level(s) and capabilities that the plan will focus on.
3. Select Children.
4. Select Activities.
5. Type descriptions and notes.
