You may keep records on one or more of your children’s family members. What family information you are required to keep varies from program to program. Family information can be entered by any level of user.
1. Click:
a. Child/Family>Records>Family.
b. Merlin>Family>Demographics.
c. Merlin>PIR>Family.
2. Use the down arrow on the Center drop-down menu to select the center in which the child whose family information you wish to add is enrolled.
3. Use the down arrow on the Class drop-down menu to select the class in which the child whose family information you wish to add is enrolled.
4. Use the down arrow on the Child drop-down menu to select child whose family information you wish to add is enrolled.
5. Click the Add or remove a child link.
6. The Add or remove a child page opens.
7. The Available children list on the left lists children that are available to be put into this family.
8. The Children in this family list on the right lists the children that are already in this family (there is always at least one child there, the child that you selected in the drop-down box on the Family Demographic page).
9. To link a sibling to this child and their family information, double-click the child's name in the Available Children box. The child's name will now appear in the Children in this family box.
a. If the desired sibling is not in the Available Children box, that sibling is most likely already associated with a unique family.
b. You need to fix that sibling’s family assignment so that the sibling is available for assignment.
10. Click the Save Changes button.
11. The sibling(s) is now listed under the Add or Remove a child link.
