The Individual Development Milestones report displays the individual child’s readiness level (Learned, Ready Now, Ready Soon, Ready Later) for selected the capabilities in a scale.
Milestone, you select specific capabilities on which to report. Milestones may be saved by defining a Milestone Set to provide easy reporting on the same milestones throughout the program year.
o Saved milestone sets created by Agency-level users will be available to Center and Class-level users.
o Milestone sets created by Center-level users will be available to Class-level users.
TIP: This is available to Agency-, Center-, and Class-level users.
Teachers use this report when they want to keep a close watch on how their children are performing on a few key capabilities in a scale. For instance, out of the Early Math Scale, you may want to document progress on the seven math capabilities that are essential for children successfully transitioning into kindergarten. This information is especially beneficial to use when developing lesson plans that address these important benchmarks.
1. Click Reports>Individual Development Milestones (under Observation Reports).
Report is also accessible from the Child Demographics page Options box.
2. If you are an Agency- or Center-level user, use the down arrows on the Center drop-down menu to select the center on which you wish to generate a report.
3. Use the down arrows on the Class drop-down menu to select the class on which you wish to generate a report.
4. Enter the Period Ending date or click the calendar and select the date to select the date for which you wish to generate a report.
5. If necessary, such as in the case of selecting a period ending date in the past, click the Refresh Class Roster link. The list of children will now include any children who have since been dropped from the class.
6. Double-click on the children you wish to include in your report from the Class Roster box.
7. Select the Scale you would like to include on this report.
8. Determine the milestones:
i. select goals
iii. use an existing milestone set
iv. view an existing milestone set
v. edit an existing milestone set
vi. delete an existing milestone set
9. Click the checkbox for each desired goal.
10. Proceed to Filters and Generate section for next steps.
Creating a Milestones Set may be useful for defining specific program goals, such as those for School Readiness. A milestone set saved by an Agency-level users may be visible to Center and Class-level users. A milestone set saved by a Center-level user may be visible for Class-level users at the same center.
11. Click Create New Milestones link.
12. Type the milestone name in the Milestone Name field.
13. Click the checkbox for each desired goal.
14. Click the Save button.
15. To use this new Milestone Set proceed to the Use An Existing Milestone Set for directions.
16. Use the down arrows on the Milestone drop-down menu to select the milestone set.
17. Proceed to Filters and Generate section for next steps.
18. Use the down arrows on the Milestone drop-down menu to select the milestone set.
19. Click the View/Edit Milestones link.
20. All the goals for the selected scale display along with a checkmark for the goals included in the selected Milestone Set.
21. Click the Back button.
22. Use the down arrows on the Milestone drop-down menu to select the milestone set.
23. Click the View/Edit Milestones link.
24. All the goals for the selected scale display along with a checkmark for the goals included in the selected Milestone Set.
25. Make the necessary changes, including the Milestone Name and goals.
26. Click the Save button.
27. Use the down arrows on the Milestone drop-down menu to select the milestone set.
28. Click the trashcan icon.
29. Select the Readiness Levels you wish to include in the report.
a. You may include as many readiness levels as you wish.
b. Sometimes it is beneficial just to know what a child has learned, or what a child is ready now to learn. Galileo gives you flexibility in the reports you print.
30. (optional) Select the Show Data Sources checkbox if you would like to display data sources on the report.
31. (optional) In the Teacher Signature heading, place a checkbox for the Include a teacher signature line.
32. (optional) In the Teacher Comment heading, place a checkbox for the Include a teacher comment box.
33. (optional) In the Parent Signature heading, place a checkbox for the Include a parent signature line.
34. (optional) In the Parent Comment heading, place a checkbox for the Include a parent comment box.
35. In the Report Headings section, determine if you to print the scale and:
a. level, select the radio button Print scale name and level.
b. no level, click in the radio button Print name without level.
36. Click the Run Report button.
