Storyteller Overview

Purpose

Storyteller is an online computer application comprised of instruction and assessment tools designed to assist teachers in promoting learning. Available to children and teachers are:

Storyteller integrates easily with classroom instruction as either the literacy portion of teacher-created lesson plans or in conjunction with other language and literacy activities.

Storyteller is a curriculum resource consisting of four components:

1.         27 Language and Literacy Lesson Plans

2.         Language and Literacy Activities correlated to the computer-based activities

3.         Computer-based Language and Literacy instructional activities

a.  To access the Storyteller Lesson Plans and the Storyteller Activities, follow the instructions in the online help files. Be sure to select the “Storyteller G3 Lesson Plans” and “Storyteller G3 Activity Library.”  

b.  These lesson plans and activities are intended to occur in the classroom at a variety of interest areas, other than the computer center.  

c.  A teacher then supplements these lessons and activities with the computer animated instruction and assessment activities. 

d.  The activities found in the Storyteller Activity library correspond with the lesson plan.  

e.  Please note, many activities come with resources that may be printed and used when presenting the Storyteller activities to children.
