Purpose

Galileo provides users the opportunity to utilize the Galileo model lesson plans and activities, modify the Galileo lesson plans and acitivities, and/or create their own lesson plans and activities.

Guidebooks and Manuals

· Curriculum Guidebook, a comprehensive resource which provides information regarding the research and theory behind the Galileo Pre-K Online Curriculum along with pedagogy, best practices, scope and sequence, and implementation instructions. This document includes the Creating Interest Centers, Galileo G3 Activity Storybook List and the Galileo G3 Activity Materials List documents.

Resources

· Teacher's Quick Start Guide, this is a how-to document that outlines the components of the Galileo Pre-K Online and the Storyteller G3 curriculum and how to use them in an easy Q&A format.

· Assessment and Curriculum Fidelity

· Curriculum Getting Started Checklist is designed to be used by agency administrators in planning for implementation of the Galileo Curriculum.

· Creating Interest Centers, explains the importance of classroom organization and design, and gives both guidance and lists of materials for setting up interest centers in the preschool classroom. This document is also included in the Curriculum Guidebook. To create an interest area, refer to the Interest Areas page.

Activity Resources

· Galileo G3 Activity Materials Checklist, is a resource teachers can use to inventory their classroom to ensure all necessary supplies are available to implement the Galileo G3 Activities.

· Galileo G3 Activity Book List, provides a list of storybooks which are recommended in the Galileo G3 Activities for 3-5 year olds. This list also indicates which books are available in Spanish or a bilingual version to support programs with dual language learning children.

· Galileo G3 Activities Book, is a downloadable, printable book which contains all of the Galileo G3 Activities which are designed for classroom use with 3-5 year olds.

· 18-36 Months G3 Activities Book, this is a downloadable, printable book which contains all of the Galileo G3 Activities which are designed for classroom use with 18-36 month olds.

· Times for Learning G3 Activities Book, is a downloadable, printable book which contains all of the Galileo Times for Learning G3 activities which are designed for families to share with their 3-5 year old children at home. This book contains each activity in both English and Spanish.
